Your team is shipping faster.
Are you more confident
in what you are delivering?
I am Jack Lin, founder of Qualstride. I embed inside scaling tech teams as a fractional QE lead to build the automation strategy, AI validation guardrails, and release culture that make fast shipping trustworthy.
The problem — 2026
Speed is no longer the differentiator.
Confidence is.
Your team adopted AI coding tools and velocity went up. But so did the questions. Are we reviewing AI-generated code rigorously enough? Why are production incidents trending up while cycle time trends down? How do we know what we are merging is actually correct?
Research published in late 2025 found that AI-generated code carries 1.7× more issues than human-written code. Logic errors are 75% more frequent. Security bugs appear at nearly double the rate.
The teams that win in 2026 are not the ones generating the most code. They are the ones who can confidently ship what they generate. That requires a Quality Engineering function built for this moment, and a QE lead who will tell you when a release is not ready, even when every stakeholder is pushing for speed.
Those two things are rarer than they should be. That is exactly the gap Qualstride fills.
What Qualstride engagements look like in practice
The numbers
"Jack's leadership and hard work manifested directly into improving our product and the experience of our customers."
Shan Syed, Engineering Director, formerly Kira Systems
"Jack brought in a systematic and automation-first approach that allowed us to scale exponentially."
VP Engineering, formerly VTS & Spotify
The Qualstride difference
A consultant gives you a report.
Qualstride owns the outcome.
When I engage with a team, I am in your Slack. Part of your sprint reviews. I hold the quality roadmap, run the release process, and build capability inside your team so the work outlasts my involvement.
And I tell you when a release is not ready.
That sounds obvious. But when teams are pulled in all directions and every stakeholder is asking for speed, that is the moment most people fold. A product manager who worked with me documented it better than I can:
"Even when resources were strapped, when customer expectations were high, and when every stakeholder was asking for speed, Jack knew when to say 'no, the product is not ready.' He has the innate ability to put himself in the customer's shoes. This skill saved our bacon more times than I can count."
Lucan McRandall, Product Manager, formerly Sysomos
Accountability, backbone, and a genuine stake in what ships. That is the Qualstride model.
Customer-first lens
Multiple engineering leaders named this. A genuine pattern, not a positioning line.
Holds the line
Documented by a PM who watched it happen under pressure. The rarest skill in Quality Engineering.
Builds trust between QA and Engineering
The cultural result that outlasts the contract and makes quality everyone's job.
Live AI-in-QE case study
66% efficiency gain, 96% bug acceptance rate. Production. Documented. Repeatable. The most urgent QE problem in 2026.
What Qualstride offers
Four ways to work together
Every engagement starts where you are. Most clients begin with the Diagnostic.
QE Diagnostic
2-weeks audit. Interviews, automation review, AI code exposure check, release map. Prioritised roadmap + executive brief you can act on immediately.
Low-risk first yes. Clarity before commitment. Most clients use this to scope a Fractional engagement.
Fractional QE Lead
Embedded QE leadership, 1–2 days/week. Own the roadmap, run releases, coach the team. 3-months minimum. I am in your Slack, in your sprints, accountable for outcomes.
Fractional executive, not consultant. The Qualstride model.
QE Transformation Program
90-days fixed-scope engagement: automation strategy, process re-design, team up-skilling, metrics installation, AI validation guardrails.
Fixed scope, fixed fee. The 90-days stride from where you are to where you need to be.
QE Leadership Coaching
1:1 for QE leads and Engineering Managers. Bi-weekly sessions + async support. Strategy, team building, career coaching. 3-months minimum.
The coach that helps your team build its own stride.
Not sure which is right? The Diagnostic is always the answer. Two weeks, fixed fee, complete clarity.

About Jack Lin
I am Jack Lin,
founder of Qualstride.
I have spent 15 years building Quality Engineering functions inside Toronto's best product companies: Oracle Eloqua, Sysomos, Kira Systems, VTS, and Phoenix. Three of those were built from scratch.
I hold a Bachelor of Education alongside my Computer Science degree. That combination is unusual in QE. I do not just fix systems; I develop the people inside them. The career development program I built at Kira Systems helped QE engineers transition into development roles.
I keep the end-customer experience front-and-centre in everything I do. Not just test coverage. Not just defect counts. The actual person using the product. Two of my former managers named this independently as my most distinctive quality.
I started Qualstride because 2026 is the pivotal moment for Quality Engineering. AI has changed the volume, speed, and risk profile of development faster than most QE functions were designed to handle. The teams that navigate this well will have a structural advantage that compounds.
"Jack is an asset to every team, every department, and every company he works for."
VP Engineering, formerly VTS & Spotify
"He is a thoughtful and humble leader and is able to adapt to a variety of scenarios. I would not hesitate to work with Jack again."
Andy Macdonald, Director of Engineering, formerly VTS
What engineering leaders say
6 leaders.
15 years.
"Jack brought in a systematic and automation-first approach that allowed us to scale exponentially. Jack's superpower is his attention to detail in every aspect of his job. He is not afraid to challenge the status quo while also finding ways to move faster and increase quality. Jack is an asset to every team, every department, and every company he works for."
"Even when resources were strapped, when customer expectations were high, and when every stakeholder was asking for speed, Jack knew when to say 'no, the product is not ready.' He has the innate ability to put himself in the customer's shoes. This skill saved our bacon more times than I can count."
"He is a tremendous Quality leader, extremely hard working and keeps the end customer experience front-and-centre. He's a self starter who is able to drive his teams towards shared goals and outcomes. I would not hesitate to work with Jack again."
"Jack built Quality Engineering as a concept at Kira, which is not trivial; the complexities around automation for Kira's AI product were challenging but Jack's leadership and hard work manifested directly into improving our product. 'That's not my job' doesn't exist anywhere in Jack's ethos."
"He kept a line of open communication and was very receptive to alternative suggestions. This type of receptiveness led towards a good, trusting relationship between the UI and QA which in turn led to more productivity."
"Jack was a fountain of information regarding QA best practices and product knowledge — this combination helped to drive our release process forward at several critical points. I was particularly impressed by Jack's ability to handle multiple projects effortlessly."
